<p><strong>1)   Always eat breakfast</strong><br />
Believe it or not, the first meal of the day is the most important one which provides your body the required fuel to keep you going throughout the day. Never miss breakfast; snack on an energy bar, a banana or apple, or drink a glass of juice, if you-re in a hurry.</p>
<p><strong>2)   Eat smaller meals and more often</strong><br />
Studies have proven that by eating smaller and healthier meals actually give you more energy as opposed to bigger meals which often make you feel tired and sleepy! Try to eat a healthy snack every four hours to maintain your energy levels.</p>
<p><strong>3)   Exercise!</strong><br />
Walk, jog, or cycle at least fifteen minutes everyday. Any kind of physical activity will boost your energy levels. Find time between breaks, classes, before or after work. Plan ahead and establish a schedule for exercising. You-ll notice an immediate difference in energy!</p>
<p><strong>4)   Feed your cells!</strong><br />

Just thinking of everyone who needs you can sap out what little energy you have left. Maybe you feel like you cant possibly get it all done. But you know you HAVE to. People depend on you everyday. Your family. Your friends. Your coworkers. Your clients. Even your pets! To meet the demands of life today, you cant afford to have your energy depleted. So here are some ways to easily boost those levels right away.</p>
<p><strong>1) Aerocize. </strong>I was speaking with a friend yesterday who has Lyme disease. He is so ill he literally cannot exercise. He was depressed. I suggested he go out his door (get as bundled up as necessary) and close the door. Take in deep breaths for 10 minutes. He could not believe how much better he felt. If where you are is smoggy, or if there is no way you can get outside, get an air purifier and you will have the benefits of the negative ions anyway.</p>
<p><strong>2) Exercise is the energy creator.</strong> Move your body, no matter how little. If you cannot even move your ankle or wrist joints around in circles, imagine yourself doing it. You know you need it, so why fight it- Take a walk, even if it is winter. If you can&#8217;t walk outside, walk in a mall. Stretch. Elongate those tight muscles. Dance! Put on your favorite music and move around (again if you cannot move even minimally imagine yourself doing this.) It feels so good. If youre bedridden or for some other reason cant exercise today, at least visualize doing it in your mind. You all know the story of the P.O.W. from Vietnam who was imprisoned for 8 years, never exercising. Every day he visualized playing golf, stroke by stroke. The day he got home he got the best score in golf in his life. The bottom line is we are meant to exercise. The nervous and endocrine systems need stimulation to release endorphins (those feel-good, energy enhancing chemicals).</p>
<p><strong>3)  Pump up your energy in your attitude.</strong> Think of life as a school. When you quit learning, you begin dying. Open your mind; learn something new every day. Make it a game! Write down your new find in a spiral notebook nothing fancy. Its fun to look back and see how much more knowledge youve captured over time.</p>
<p><strong>4)  Clutter The silent Energy Sucker.</strong> Youve heard it before whats on the outside is a reflection of whats on the inside. Surrounded by clutter- It has a real physical effect on your energy levels. Dont worry. Im not going to ask you toclea n out your garage or over-stuffed closet all at once. Set a timer and just take 15 minutes a day to de-clutter your space. Its all about baby steps.</p>
<p><strong>5)  What goes in shows on the outside. </strong>Keep your water intake high. Studies show lack of water is the number one trigger of daytime fatigue. In fact, a mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.</p>
<p><strong>6)  Let it go.</strong> There is a direct relationship between buried anger and your energy levels. Holding onto a grudy or not moving on in your life hurts you more than it hurts anyone else. It only helps you physically and energetically to acknowledge that people have their limitations. If you were hurt, you dont have to trust that person again. Ritualize it instead! Write his or her name on a piece of paper. Pour all of your painful thoughts into that paper. Now destroy it. Burn it. Drown it. Rip it up. Dont you feel better- Forgiving and letting go is a selfish act you do to make yourself feel better. Be a little selfish!</p>
<p><strong>7) </strong> <strong>Money cant buy you happiness. </strong>But most people refuse to believe it. If you find you are doing things you find unpleasant just for a paycheck, you can be assured your energy is depleted. If you dislike your job or if you have not been able to work because of your condition, try this exercise. Scan the newspaper for 10 jobs in 4 different fields you could do. These dont have to be jobs you WANT to do. Just ones that you COULD do. This exercise is meant to teach flexibility. It reframes you in a light you dont normally see yourself. With this expansion of possibility, youll feel less trapped. More hopeful. More energized! Once you see something you might like to do ask friends if they know of a way to do this in the amount of time you have.</p>
<p><strong>8)  There is a map to wellness. </strong>Other people have trod the path and gotten well. </strong>Sleep deprivation is the most common cause of low energy and fatigue. Most adults need 8 hours of sleep every night. If you are sleeping in late on weekends, it&#8217;s a sign that you don&#8217;t get enough sleep during the week.</p>
<p>If you have to wake up early in the morning, go to sleep earlier in the evening. Going to bed even 30 minutes earlier can make a huge difference in your energy levels during the day!</p>
<p><strong>Reduce clutter</strong>:<br />
Not being able to find anything among out-of-control piles of papers is stressful. Clothes that you never wear, papers that are falling everywhere and useless items that you feel sorry to throw out can invade your space and take over your life.</p>
<p>Clutter causes stress and saps away energy. Dump all unnecessary stuff in a big garbage can, and you&#8217;ll be able to breathe easier and have more energy.</p>
<p><strong>Drink more water:</strong><br />
Being dehydrated makes you feel tired and irritable. If you are not thirsty, that does not mean that you drink enough water. By the time you feel thirsty it&#8217;s too late &#8211; you are already dehydrated.</p>
<p>Most people need at least 8 cups of water per day. The easiest way to know that you are drinking enough is to buy one of those &#8220;8 glass&#8221; water-bottles that they sell in most drugstores.</p>
<p><strong>Take a walk:</strong><br />
Sitting in the chair all day can make you feel stiff and tired, and then you&#8217;d feel too lazy to get up, creating a vicious cycle of inactivity. Make it into a habit to take a walk every day, and your energy levels will increase.</p>
<p><strong>Break a routine:</strong><br />
Having the same old routine every day sucks out your soul and steals your energy.Do not allow yourself to get stuck in a rut! Do something new on a regular basis.</p>
<p><strong>See a friend:</strong><br />
Isolation is a recipe for bad mood and low energy. Even when you don&#8217;t feel like dealing with anyone, spending time with a person whose company you enjoy will energize you.</p>
<p><strong>Lose weight:</strong><br />
Carrying excess weight puts additional strain on the body. Even an extra 10 lbs are hard to carry. Try lifting a 10 lb sack of potatoes! Now imagine it being permanently attached to you &#8211; day and night.</p>
<p>If you are overweight, your body has to work hard to constantly carry around the extra pounds. Shed the<br />
excess fat, and you&#8217;ll feel lighter and more energetic.</p>
